How to Prepare Print-Ready Packaging Design in Saudi Arabia

Premium packaging is decided before the print run: material, hierarchy, finishing, scale and a production file that leaves no room for guesswork.

The problem

A packaging design can look refined on screen and still disappoint in hand. Colours shift on the chosen board, foil is added without a hierarchy, type becomes too small at real size, or the printer receives incomplete finishing and dieline instructions.

Treat production as part of the design system from the beginning. Choose the substrate before finalising colours, reserve foil and spot UV for purposeful emphasis, test the artwork at actual size, and hand over a complete production pack with bleed, dieline, colour and finishing notes.

Choose the material before finalising colour

Paper and board are not neutral backgrounds. Uncoated, coated and textured stocks absorb ink and reflect light differently. Select the final material early, then approve colour builds and any physical proof on that exact substrate.

Make premium finishes do a job

Gold foil, embossing and spot UV work best when they direct attention: a mark, a product name, a tactile pattern or a key detail. When every element receives a finish, nothing feels deliberate.

Test the system at real size

Review the smallest type, legal information and product hierarchy on the actual pack dimensions. Build the pattern and layout to work across boxes, cups, bags and wrapping paper so every item still feels like one brand.

Hand over a production-ready file

Before release, confirm trim, bleed, dieline layer, spot-colour naming, overprint settings, image resolution and separate finishing layers. Clear instructions protect the approved idea from the first proof to the final delivery.

  • Lock the final substrate before approving colour.
  • Use foil, UV and embossing to create hierarchy, not decoration.
  • Check the smallest format and deliver a complete production pack.
